Seattle Aquarium Visit
Even with a bus load of 5th graders it was only a short trip from Burien to the Seattle Waterfront. Today was a fun day of exploring the Seattle Aquarium. The kids got to collect samples of plankton and then take the research indoors and view under a microscope. I never knew there were so many different species of plankton, I guess the Spongebob version is only one of them.
Here are a few pictures from the trip:

No Strings Attached is a twist on the original story of the talking puppet. In this play within a play, Carl becomes Pinocchio, a magical marionette, and learns about life through a series of bad decisions and mishaps that result in transforming him into a donkey. Along the way, he meets hip-hopping, swinging, and rock ‘n’ rolling characters who attempt to train him to be a good “woodenhead.” Finally, Pinocchio redeems himself by saving Geppetto.
Adults: $10
Seniors and students who are not performing/singing: $8

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to Burien Undressed Blog
It’s exactly one year ago today that I took my first pictures for this Burien Undressed blog, and here they are. Seahurst Park-

It was a really beautiful day and so we were running around trying to get a couple of good photos and then we stopped by olde Burien to take a night time photo too.
It has been such a fun experience, taking photos around town, meeting with people and businesses, I just love it! I know this next year will bring more additions to the blog. Thanks to everyone for such wonderful and positive feedback.

Burien Snow Pictures-Icicles taller than the kids!
We have 4 foot icicles attached to the house. I guess it would be time to take off the bamboo window cover that’s meant to keep out the sun?

Last night we broke off a couple and they were over 3 inches in diameter…

Since we were getting low on necessaties, we took a stroll over to Walgreens. Here are some photos taken along Ambaum.

142nd and Ambaum…

Here’s a cool looking tree on my street…

Burien Pictures, Candid shots over the past several months
Some more exciting news, Burien Undressed and a link to my Flickr page is on the new city of Burien’s Website!! The city listed a few names of local photographers and Burien Undressed was one of them. Check it out here for a list of other local photographers in Burien.
What is so great about living in Burien? For me, it’s the people and the community. I enjoy seeing all the familiar faces, whether I’m shopping, buying a coffee, or picking up my kids from school. It’s a rare occasion that I don’t see a friendly face, or get a wave from someone. That is comfort to me, that is home to me. Here are a few random photos from around Burien that I’ve taken over the past several months. There are a few photos around Seattle too, just because we have such great views!

Long Time Residents of Burien- 5 Generations to be exact!
Me and grandpa.
This post is dedicated to my favorite grandpa Marv who past away two years ago. It’s his birthday and so here is a little of our Burien History.
After deciding to start this Burien blog, it came to my realization that five generations of my family have resided in the Burien area.

My great grandpa Oliver Harrison worked for the gas company,

My grandpa Marvin LeRoy Fitch (far right) drove long distance semi-trucks,

My dad Byron Fitch graduated from Highline High School,

My parents married at Highline Christian Church, Burien WA

If this photo was taken today, you would see Burien Town Square in the background. That is my dad on the right. My grandpa built that fireplace and it’s still standing today. This is what the house looks like now on the corner of 155th and 2nd.

Many years of happy memories were made here! My grandpa was also a beekeeper and the house was on over an acre back then. He maintained a wonderful garden full of fresh vegetables and fruit trees that we enjoyed for many years.

I graduated from Evergreen High School, and if you ever needed proof that big hair was in, here you go! Now my children attend St. Francis of Assisi.
Do you have something you want to blog about? If you have any fun stories or pictures to share, please do so!
