Recently I had the opportunity to have a session with Colby Wilk, and this would be the place that I should insert the definition of who and what Colby Wilk is. Some things arn’t so easy to define though.
Each of us like a diamond has many facets. Representing many different aspects of ourselves; pain, hurt, resentment, rejection, regret. Some of these aspects we choose to avoid and by doing so keeps us from experiencing a life full of health, joy and completeness. Like this short story I heard a long time ago, I love it so keep reading…
There were two neighbors. One had a dog. The dog was howling and howling. So the neighbor asks, “What is wrong with your dog?” The neighbor replies “Oh, he’s laying on a spike”. The first neighbor asks, “Well why doesn’t he get up and move?” And the owner of the dog replies, “Well it doesn’t hurt that bad!”
When you come to a point that you would like to get up and off whatever spike is causing you pain, I suggest you go see Colby. Colby has a great website and blog with more information about Theta Healing. Below is one of many great articles you will find on Colby’s blog.
“Why do people get disappointed by others? For the most part people get disappointed after taking something personally. They make what the other person did or not do mean something about them and/or life.
For example, a friend blows you off for a movie on Friday night. You might take it personally. ”He/She does not respect me. No- one has ever really respected me. Life is going to be hard if I have to put up with people this inconsiderate”
You wind up in the spin of disappointment. You saught predictability, safety and a sure footing with another. But, people are not safe. They can be unpredictable and unaware, inadvertently hurting others feelings.
Disappointment following another’s actions means you have temporarily lost your connection with the Source of Life.
You would not be bothered by another’s lack of awareness or consideration if you were connected to higher consiounsenes If you were, you would see their misdeed as just an action. You would have compassion for their lack of awareness and choices.
People take things personally when they have made another their God. They have made another the most important thing and have lost contact with the inner divine.
My friends, set an intention the next time you get disappointed by another to NOT try to immediately work it out with him/her. Reconnect with your Source. You can only find safety there.”

Here is a picture of us at last years St. Patrick’s Day Dash. I know I look like I’m in pain! The problem was that we were late to take the shuttle to the starting line. So after parking at the finish line almost 4 miles away and then missing the shuttle, we found ourselves running to the start line. Which gave us a nice warm up before the 3 3/4 mile run itself. Not being in shape in the first place did cause a little pain. I’ve just signed up for the Inaugural Seattle Rock-N-Roll Marathon (half for me, that is only 13.1 miles). Coming this June! But for now, if you would like to get a fun run under your belt, this is a great one to do. The finish line leads you right into a beer garden, taking the pain away right quick! It’s festive, it’s fun and it’s really green, a sea of green. To register for the Seattle St. Patty’s Day Dash, or get more information click here. Taking place Sunday, March 15, Seattle WA

Seattle is having it’s very first Rock-N-Roll Marathon and 1/2 marathon on Saturday, June 27th 2009. Seattle is the eighth city to join in the Rock-N-Roll Marathon series. This race will be broadcast nationally, showing off how beautiful Seattle is during the summer months. Luckily our summers are never too hot, providing the perfect running weather.
It will be taking the place of the Sea-fair Marathon. Organizers hope to attract at least 15,000 runners, including elite-level international competitors aiming for the approximate $100,000 in total prize money. The course is from Tukwila to Seattle, and scheduled to finish at Qwest Field. After the race, all runners, walkers and event volunteers will be treated to a post-race concert at Marymoor Park.
This marathon is a Boston qualifier. Featuring 70 live bands and 40 cheer teams! To find out more about the Seattle Rock-N-Roll Marathon, visit the website here.

If you live in the Burien area and are interesting in joining a local running group that is training for the 1/2 marathon, send me an email at jdjolly@msn.com (Danita). If you’ve never experienced this level of performance, it is the most exhilarating experience. Here is a picture of me crossing the finish line after 23.2 miles at my very first marathon in Portland.

Why run a marathon or 1/2 marathon? Whether you think you can or not…you can. I went to California to watch my very best friend Julie do her first marathon. As I stood at the finish line, I watched people with prosthetic legs, heart transplants, every age and size cross the finish line. Inspiration overcame me, so after going back home I attempted my very first ‘run’. I was gasping for air after 1/8 of a mile. Completely out of shape and weighing 180lbs. All my friends looked at me like I was crazy and said, “don’t you think your being a little over zealous?” Oh no, I’m going for the gold! It’s not easy and it takes dedication, but the reward is something that no one can take away from you.
